The Investors Resilience Challenge responds to a shared problem faced by development finance institutions (DFIs) and investors: financing adaptation and resilience (A&R) remains difficult to define, measure, and scale. Existing frameworks and taxonomies are often complex or inconsistent, making it harder to identify credible A&R investments and mobilise private capital at speed and scale.

The Challenge calls on DFIs and private investors to work together to address these barriers through a common approach: a flexible set of criteria that create a clear and credible basis for collaboration.

Developed through the Adaptation and Resilience Investors Collaborative (ARIC) and modelled on the 2X Challenge, it provides a practical and credible reference point for qualifying and communicating A&R investments, strengthening alignment between public and private investors, and accelerating finance for climate resilience.

An investment is considered Resilience Challenge-aligned if it meets at least two of the five ARIC Resilience Framework criteria:
